I wanted to meditate, but I feared being judged by the people there
and man I'm glad I did because...
Yo dude!
Happy Monday, it’s a full moon today (you know I’m getting into astrology).
It’s called the Wolf Moon because you’re more likely to hear the howls today.
Which is almost what I did a few moments back when I wanted to meditate in public.
I had a call with a student and because I felt a bit slow in the head from working I decided to go for a walk. As I turned the corner I felt like doing the 3-step Ohm meditation (super-powerful and I’ll explain it in a bit)
but I was in my neighborhood and thought that people would look at me and think I’m crazy holding my hands on my head (I’ll explain how it works)…
Do you know the feel? You want to do something exciting, but you also don’t want to be judged by others.
I knew that it would be an extra powerful meditation by doing it while people walked by because of the social pressure, and I told myself that this exact part of the neighborhood doesn’t know me.
It worked so I started the meditation and man I’m glad because as I finished I like a new human being. Refreshed, peaceful and ready to rock&roll.
Opening my eyes, a woman was walking by with her dog and because I had transformed the fear into love, I felt like I was inspiring her by doing it.
Now I enter the call with my student full of energy and momentum!
In moments like this where you’re afraid of being feared, it’s easier when your inner voice has become your wingman, but if the inner-critic still shouts the loudest then I recommend this quick fix:
As you feel the excitement of doing it, but the fear of judgement seems higher, ask yourself this:
Which decision would lead me towards fear, and which one would lead me towards love?
By choosing the one of love, you’ll be sending out love to the universe.
Which means you’ll get love back.
As promised, here’s the meditation:
Stand or sit up tall with your hands over your heart. Take a deep breath. As you breath out, make an “Aaaa” sound" while breathing out. Feel the sound vibrations passing through your heart.
Then put your hands on your throat. Take a deep breath. As you breath out, make an “Ooo” sound while breathing out. Feel the sound vibrations passing through your throat.
Finally, put your hands on your head. Take a deep breath. Make a “Mmm” sound while breathing out. Feel the sound vibrations passing through the top of your head.
Enjoy yourself
and howl with joy!
