Go from Self-Attack to Self-Care
with these 2 Quick and Easy practices
Hey brother,
It’s Saturday afternoon, and I just finished a meeting with my business coach.
My girl is doing some errands, so I share these two golden nuggets with you.
I used to be self-attacking a lot, especially when I didn’t do what I wanted
like speak up for myself or approach an attractive girl.
You know what I mean right?
It’s considered normal, but it’s possible to change your mind space into a place of love and compliments instead.
One time it was so much that when I tried to record a video, to send to a coach I was working with,
I started crying
I was not being a good friend to myself.
How so?
Well, because the voice in my head would say all this ugly stuff to me, so of course, I would feel bad.
That’s why, I decided to stop that and make a change, and two of the steps I took made a big difference,
I will share it with you now:
It’s easier to think negatively than positively, and that’s why you initially have to work to make the shift. Once you make the shift, it becomes a habit, and as you know, when it’s a habit it becomes easy to keep up.
Here is what you do:
For every negative thought, you counter it with three positives.
For example: Walking down the street and thinking to yourself, “I’m a loser for not talking with this girl”
you counter it
“I’m a winner because I’m acknowledging my fear and working towards overcoming it."
“I’m not perfect, and I love myself for my humanity. It’s adorable”
“Cool, I did not approach her, now I’m one step closer to doing it. Good job!”
Over time, this becomes your default by design.
Actions speak louder than words. The way you treat yourself is telling you how much you value and care about yourself.
Invest 90 minutes every week for Self-Care. I’m not talking about self-indulgent like time to watch YouTube videos, but actual Self-Care.
Go to bed earlier, go for that long walk you wanted to do, sit down, and draw.
Anything that you deep down either want to do, or that would nourish you. A good sign that you’re on the right way is when you initially feel resistance towards doing it, but as soon as you’re doing it, you’re feeling joyful.
These seem simple, and they are,
but do not sleep on the Gouda.
Have a great weekend still,
Edin
