Are you afraid of being creepy?
Here is how you overcome it
Hey man,
I had a call with a guy today who said he didn’t approach because he was afraid of being creepy.
Few hours after the call he texts me saying he got a girls Instagram.
Here’s how you do it.
The fear of being a creep.
What is that?
Fear.
Of something going wrong.
Whatever we put after fear (creep, rejection, being embarrassed), it’s the same.
Let me say something controversial: The problem is not fear.
Here’s what I mean.
If you were with your child (imagine you have one if you don’t) on a playground, and he said he was afraid to go on the swing.
Is fear his problem?
No, he can still go despite feeling afraid and when he comes back he’ll say he wanna do it again.
Maybe still feeling afraid, but less.
So the problem is not fear, it’s that listening to the mind which creates a story.
“She’ll think I’m a creep”
“I’ll be embarrassed”
“Everyone will see it”
It’s all the same.
So what do you then do when the fear arise?
You tell yourself the same thing you would tell your child
“It’s fine, you can still go”
and if the child comes back smiling after the playground, wouldn’t you think you’ll be smiling coming back from approaching her?
See you tomorrow.
