5 tips for a shy guy

to overcome the fear of talking with a girl

Hey man,

“When I finally got home, I realized: all that fear I felt today before approaching… was fake. Nothing bad happened.”

That was my student’s biggest breakthrough from Day 3 here in Vienna. And though I promised you one insight per day, I’ve decided to give you four more proven ways to beat the fear of approaching—because you deserve the extra value.

1. Visualize Coming Home

  • Before you leave, mentally rehearse arriving safely to your apartment.

  • This anchors you to reality before hitting the streets.

  • Whenever fear spikes, remember: you’ll be fine. Nothing bad happens.

2. Lower the Bar

  • Too much pressure kills momentum.

  • Instead of “approach and flirt,” try:
→ Smile and say “Have a great day.”

  • Quick win = flow. Flow = more approaches.

3. Start Early

  • Don’t wait for the “perfect time.”

  • As you step out the door, look around.

  • That girl walking in the opposite direction? Approach her, even for a second.

4. Sit With Your Feelings

  • After an approach that triggered you, pause.

  • Sit down. Breathe. Sink into your body's sensations.

  • Don’t fix it. Just feel it.

  • Let awareness calm your nervous system… then get back into the flow.

5. Use Support

  • Go out with a friend. Agree to say out loud when you spot a girl you like.

  • Suddenly, it's you and him vs. the fear. WAY easier.

  • No buddy nearby? Reply to this email—I might connect you with someone in your city.

That’s Day 3 in a nutshell. Five fast, practical tools that help you feel safe enough to act. Try them and let me know which one lands hardest.

See you tomorrow for Day  4—incoming 🔥

All the best,
