5 tips for a shy guy
to overcome the fear of talking with a girl
Hey man,
“When I finally got home, I realized: all that fear I felt today before approaching… was fake. Nothing bad happened.”
That was my student’s biggest breakthrough from Day 3 here in Vienna. And though I promised you one insight per day, I’ve decided to give you four more proven ways to beat the fear of approaching—because you deserve the extra value.
1. Visualize Coming Home
Before you leave, mentally rehearse arriving safely to your apartment.
This anchors you to reality before hitting the streets.
Whenever fear spikes, remember: you’ll be fine. Nothing bad happens.
2. Lower the Bar
Too much pressure kills momentum.
Instead of “approach and flirt,” try:
→ Smile and say “Have a great day.”Quick win = flow. Flow = more approaches.
3. Start Early
Don’t wait for the “perfect time.”
As you step out the door, look around.
That girl walking in the opposite direction? Approach her, even for a second.
4. Sit With Your Feelings
After an approach that triggered you, pause.
Sit down. Breathe. Sink into your body's sensations.
Don’t fix it. Just feel it.
Let awareness calm your nervous system… then get back into the flow.
5. Use Support
Go out with a friend. Agree to say out loud when you spot a girl you like.
Suddenly, it's you and him vs. the fear. WAY easier.

All the best,
